Aerial Phenomena - UFO's? An unidentified flying object (UFO), in its strictest sense, is an unfamiliar anomaly in the sky that is not readily identifiable to the observer as any known object or phenomena. Technically then, “UFO” simply refers to something that cannot be identified; however, in contemporary popular culture, the term has become synonymous with extraterrestrial spacecraft.
For two decades various groups have filed thousands of Freedom of Information Act requests for the government's files on UFOs and other phenomena, the fabled Project Blue Book records, the Air Force's files on UFO sightings and investigations. Finally, in January of this year, nearly 130,000 pages of declassified UFO records were released and put online.
For those that may be interested, some 10,000 PDFs, each representing a different case, can be examined via this site: Project Blue Book Collection. The files include the details of some of the most interesting UFO cases, including a number of famous cases, e.g., the Exeter incident, the Kenneth Arnold sighting, and the Mantell crash, along with many others.
Glaringly omitted from the released files is any mention of perhaps the most interesting case of all, that of the Roswell “incident.” Well. So who to trust? The baby duck of course, he’s legit, but who else? “Woof...”
