That happened to me too! i was right around the corner from where that shot was taken and i was watching some green sea turtles retreat back into the water after a long nights rest on the beach. I began looking off into the horizon at a boat and i saw this object fly out of the water and crash into the ocean! It must have been a humpback whale. I was told that it's a migration route for whales this time of year. Maui is one magical place. :)

I was just hanging out on the beach one day while visiting and a big old whale jumped out of the water at a distance. I was blown away. So cool.
