Mary you surely can as the side splits needs regular exercises to condition the legs, core, total body. Before stretching I usually do: Jumping Jacks, Horse Stance Squats, Shoulder Width Squats, Side Situps, Jogging, Brisk Walking. Thank you. Best Wishes!
