Here is a nice video that goes over the lost story of creation as it is being put together from the Sumerian tablets in a large project to digitize and transcribe them via AI.
It seems like parts of that story are being overlayed on our reality now and it provides an interesting perspective on current events.

Though possibly not comparable to the scale of the Great Flood, there have been prior incidents like the flood of Ogyges. These had likely been used to flush out prior versions of the current homo sapiens body and select for desirable characteristics. I assume that, at the time, the bodies were hosting Gaian souls and this is the beginning of our simian race. : )
I should say that many people who are currently here at this site are more 'advanced' than those gods.
