~~MUSIC SHARING THREAD~~

Music is so important

I wonder what sort of soundtrack JD Aliix's movie/series would have?

I wonder what sort of music I would play in my restaurant, and what music you'd all have in your establishments, or maybe the clarity of silence would be better for your goal?

...There's a song for that too! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4%E2%80%B233%E2%80%B3

    paper man by Ray Lamontagne

    Lyrics below

Here in my heart I am
Here in my heart I am
Here in my heart I am
Here in my heart I am
    I won't live like a paper man
    And step into life,
    the joy that I had
I won't fold like a paper man To which I've been told by a paper-white plan
    Hear me
    Hear me When I stay,
I won't play for long As long as I have a song,
    I'll sing A song, I'll sing
Here in my mind I am
Here in my mind I am
Here in my mind I am
Here in my mind I am
    I won't live like a paper man
Step into life, the joy that I had
    I won't fold like a paper man
To which I've been told by a paper-white plan

  • Sharing my experience with this song by Charles Aznavour, a French singer whose work our French literature teacher had us studied when I was n HS.  I also remember hearing his songs played while growing up.

One Thursday morning early in the month of October I had a sudden obsession to listen to Aznavour’s music.  My eyes were overflowing with tears in ways that seem so unusual to me.  That day I felt so “French” as if it has always been my true cultural identity and regretted my time lived in the States.  On Friday morning there was an unexplainable connection to “Something” that simultaneously reached out and pulled away that shattered my heart with uncontrollable tears.

A thought occurred to me prompting me to google Azanavour’s name.  And my investigation led to a live video steaming of his State funeral timely cued to hear the French president eulogize Aznavour and reminding all of us that France never forgets its poets. .

I understood my sudden tuning into that one particular song with words echoing deeply in my inner world, more so than ever.  It was such a sweet experience affirming our connectedness with one another that is worthy of being cherished even if my face was washed with melancholic tears that make my heart crumble with sadness to rise with a sunny smile

Here is the translation of the lyric --   (I have highlighted the words that captured me

    Die to Love

The walls of my life are evened

I cling to them but I slip

    Slowly to my destiny

    Die from love

    While everyone is judging me

I only see one shelter for me

All exits sealed up for me

    Die from love

    Die from love

    Willingly deep into the night

Pay love at the price of one's life

Sin against the body but not against the soul

Let's leave the world to its problems

    Hainous people facing themselves

    With their small ideas

    Die from love

    As our love cannot live

Better to close its book up

    Instead of burning it

    Die from love

Leave with one's head lifted up

    Be victorious in a defeat

Turn all data up side down

    Die from love

    Die from love

    As one might from anything

    Leave everything behind

And only carry what was us, what was you

You are spring and I am autumn

    You heart takes, mine gives

And my track is already beaten

    Die from love

    Die from love

    Die from love
